Right Now You Can See Me...

at the Utah Shakespeare Festival! You can see my dramaturgical work in A RAISIN IN THE SUN, but you can also see me walking around town, running lines for my understudy tracks of Juliet in ROMEO AND JULIET and Hermia in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.

You'll Also Find Me Working On...

some really exciting new works in the making!

Gummer's Theatre Co. will be mounting a Shakespeare-inspired devised comedic work this Fall/Winter, and will begin workshopping a verbatim theatre piece centered around journeymen theatre artists.

About The Work

Darci is a theatre-maker of contradiction. An actor/anthropologist, Guatemalan/Utahn, artist/utilitarian, raised on musical theatre and Star Trek: Next Generation - she values an interdisciplinary approach to the work.

Her most recent work focuses on recognizing the salient contrasts between the identities that we embody and celebrating the texture that these contradictions add to our communities.

About Me

Darci Josephine Ramirez (she/her/hers +) was born and raised in central Utah. While receiving her BFA in Acting with a minor in Anthropology, she helped to establish two independent theatre companies (Utah Valley Artists and Gummers Acting Co.), conducted international fieldwork studying artist communities outside of the United States, and began her career as a professional dramaturg at the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
